About me
I’ve always loved taking photos of people, but it wasn’t until I started my business in 2009 that I truly found my passion. My love for photography started when I bought my first DSLR camera for a school internship I had one summer in Hawaii. After I got back, my friends told me that my pictures looked like postcards and that I should start my own business. So, I decided to give it a shot (no pun intended) and enrolled in some photography classes to learn everything I could.
I started out by taking head shots of people I knew in New York City to build up my portfolio, and shortly thereafter, a friend of mine hired me to photograph his wedding at a beautiful ranch in upstate New York. After shooting his wedding I was totally hooked—and since then, I've shot over 300 weddings all over the country.
In 2020, I left New York and moved to Carmel, IN where I now live with my wife, two kids, and fur baby.
Weddings are my favorite thing to photograph because they're basically huge parties filled with good vibes and contagious energy. As a big softie, I've been known to get something "in my eye" during speeches. I’m also a huge sucker for father/daughter dances, flower girls, and dogs.
My Style
My style isn't light and airy or dark and moody. My style is showing people for who they are in the best light possible. I strive to show how it felt to be there by creating images that feel genuine, timeless, and true to my subject.
I’ve learned that the most important thing is helping people feel comfortable in front of the camera, and once that happens, everything else usually falls into place.
One more thing...
I love couples who don't take themselves too seriously and know how to have fun. Being silly not only breaks the ice and lightens the mood, it also creates some incredible photo opps!
I always say, if you’re not having fun, you’re doing it wrong. That's why my style combines hands-on guidance, easy-to-follow prompts, and plenty of laughs!
