Fortunately, Indianapolis offers a huge range of amazing engagement photo locations, from iconic downtown skylines to scenic outdoor spaces just outside the city. Monument Circle
Located in the literal heart of the city, nothing says ‘Indianapolis’ more than Monument Circle. A classic symbol of our beloved city, you can't go wrong with a photoshoot here.
Indiana Statehouse
Home to our state legislature, this is probably my favorite building in the whole city. Its bold Renaissance Revival architecture is the perfect backdrop for an Indianapolis-themed photo shoot. And while the outside is undeniably beautiful, the inside with its grand staircases, marble columns, and stained glass, is even better.

White River State Park
My favorite park in Indy, offering the perfect combination of city and nature. Complete with trees, bridges, water, and skyline views, there are a thousand different photo opps to choose from.
Central Canal Walk
This 3-mile long paved walkway following Indy’s man-made canal features lush greenery, old-fashioned street lamps, and sparkling fountains. Numerous photo opps abound, with world class architecture, historic monuments, colorful flowers, and beautiful trees—not to mention the best views of Indy’s skyline.
Holcomb Gardens
Located on the campus of Butler University, Holcomb Gardens offers a wide range of great photo opps on 20 acres of land. With ponds, paths, and bridges nestled into densely wooded areas, it’s the perfect spot for couples looking for a more private and serene experience.
Newfields Museum & Gardens
Newfields is the ultimate spot for those looking for elevated, magazine-style photos. If you like the look of curated gardens, greenhouses, sculptures, and historic mansions, Newfields can’t be beat. Note: $50 photo permit required.
Holliday Park
Holliday Park offers some very unique and creative photo opps set against its red-brick historic ruins and wildflower garden. If you like rustic vibes blended with nature, this is a great option.
Eagle Creek Park
One of the largest city parks in the country, Eagle Creek Park offers tons of amazing backdrops for photos. Over 3,900 acres of forest, lakes, ponds, marshes, and trails. Perfect for fall foliage shoots, nature lovers, or those looking for more privacy. Note: $8 admission fee per car.

A massively popular 125-acre park in the heart of Carmel, Coxhall Gardens offers a million different photo opps to choose from. Featuring wide open green spaces, gazebos, picturesque ponds, willow trees, a red barn, colonial mansion, clocktowers, walkways, and more- it’s easy to see why so many people choose this spot for their photoshoot or even their wedding.
The Palladium
Carmel City Center
For couples looking for more of an upscale look, this concert hall and surrounding city square will have you feeling fancy in no time. The Italian Renaissance architecture, grand staircases, and luxury shops will make it feel like you’re in Paris or Rome. If you love getting dressed up to the nines, this could be for you.
Central Park

Carmel’s largest park, Central Park offers a little of everything including tall grass prairies, wetlands, woodlands, and trails. Perfect for fall themed engagements or outdoorsy couples.
Piney Acres
Fortville, IN

Carmel Arts & Design District
Main Street
Carmel’s picture perfect downtown area, complete with red-brick roads, high-end restaurants, cute shops, cafes, and life-size statues of people walking, playing and reading the paper—all accessible by a bustling walking path on the Monon trail. If you like Hallmark movies, this is your spot!
West Park
Carmel, IN
Recently renovated, West Park offers a ton of great photo opps in their restored prairie maze, pond boardwalks, and paved trails. Getting engaged in the winter? Why not try their sledding hill for some fun action shots!
Stuckey Farm Orchard
Sheridan, IN
This working orchard and cider mill is a favorite among locals— and for good reason. Stuckey's features two annual sunflower festivals perfect for summer or fall-themed photoshoots. Photo permit and fee required. Visit their site for more info.
